Belated Hump Day Bump Day: Week 26

Today’s post will be a little different. I won’t focus too much on the pregnancy itself, but things that surround it.

My pregnancy has gone from smooth sailing to a flight with lots of turbulence, so I’d rather not live through some of that again. You name it, it probably happened to me. My feet are swollen. There’s constipation and all that comes along with it. My back always hurts. My boobs itch ALL THE TIME. On top of that, I had a bad cold last week. Since I can’t take many medicines, beating it was pretty difficult. Actually, I’m still coughing up the ickiness. Gross! Oh yeah, I don’t like having my picture taken, which is why you all haven’t seen a bump picture in a while. My maternity session will be pretty fun, right?

Since my last HDBD post, a lot has happened. We finally found out the gender of our baby…It’s a Boy! I won’t post his name since I can’t remember if I ever posted my last name or not. If you happen to be a real-life friend, you know the response I’ve gotten about his name. So many people love it, which makes me happy. I don’t have a cutesy blog nickname picked out for him, but I’m sure it will come. My husband really wants to call him Jo-JON, which is a play on the baby’s name and initials. We’ll see what happens there!

In other news, I realized that Jon and I must get on the ball with a baby registry. Although the baby shower won’t be until late November/early December, we have been asked many times about a registry. I think we’re going to go with Target, to make it a bit easier on distant relatives. Since we had lots of fun beeping things for our wedding registry, I am sure beeping baby stuff will be a lot of fun. Whenever we visit Target, we’re always looking at things that we would like for our baby.

I am still torn on nursery ideas! I know nursery themes may not matter to most people, but my husband and I are too colorful for a ho-hum nursery with pastels and little lambs. There are SO many great ideas on the web and inside of our head…plus, having a boy opens up even more doors. Just to give you an idea, we like:

Classic Mickey

Monster’s Inc.

Despicable Me lair w/ minions

Calvin and Hobbes

Lilo and Stitch

Where the Wild Things Are

Let me know what you think in the comments!

  1. For me, it’s a toss up between Monsters Inc. and Where The Wild Things Are. I have a cold remedy for you that worked literally overnight on my son: 1 teaspoon of honey and 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon, mix together and take 2 times per day for 3 days. I promise it’s safe and will knock the rest of that cold right out of you.
